RAIC | Architecture Canada announces 2013 Young Architect Award recipient
RAIC
RAIC is pleased to announce Maxime-Alexis Frappier, MIRAC, as the recipient of its 2013 Young Architect Award. Mr. Frappier graduated in 2000 from the Université de Montréal School of Architecture. In 2006 he co-founded ACDF ARCHITECTURE, now comprised of 35 professionals. He works on projects throughout Canada and Asia, and has won several awards including the Governor General's Award in Architecture, and is published in more than 30 international magazines.

L'Institut royal d'architecture du Canada (IRAC) a le plaisir d'annoncer qu'il décerne son Prix du jeune architecte 2013 à Maxime-Alexis Frappier, MIRAC. M. Frappier a obtenu son diplôme de l'École d'architecture de l'Université de Montréal en 2000. En 2006, il a été l'un des cofondateurs de l'agence ACDF ARCHITECTURE, qui compte aujourd'hui 35 professionnels. Il travaille sur des projets à la grandeur du Canada et en Asie et il a remporté plusieurs prix, dont une Médaille du Gouverneur général en architecture. Ses réalisations sont publiées dans plus de 30 magazines internationaux.

Noted for its modern design style, the firm has already been well-recognized for its work, having earned more than 60 awards since it was founded in 1994, including the Governor General's Medal in Architecture, which it received for the Schulich School of Business and Executive Learning Centre.

Planétarium Dow — « Montréal cède le Planétarium Dow à l'ÉTS »

Laurent Blanchard, président du comité exécutif de la Ville de Montréal et responsable des immeubles et des transactions immobilières, a annoncé l'approbation, par le comité exécutif, d'un projet d'acte par lequel la Ville de Montréal cède à titre gratuit le Planétarium Dow à l'ÉTS considérant l'engagement de celle-ci à y investir, d'ici trois ans, une somme minimale de 5 millions de dollars pour la réfection de l'immeuble.

Architect sought for £10 million Canada House works

An architect is being sought by the Canadian government to oversee a £10 million refurbishment of Canada House on Trafalgar Square. The property is to be refurbished and extended into the building next door at 2-4 Cockspur Street to create an 8,000sq m home for the Canadian High Commission. Design work is due to start this year with a view to the High Commission taking occupation of the completed building sometime in 2014.
